Contra Rebirth is Japanese exclusive… for now

The list of reasons to move to Japan just gets longer by the day. It’s bad enough that they have hot Ramen vending machines all over the place and got a demo of Final Fantasy XIII before everyone else, but now Konami has put the finishing touch on our misery with the screens above.

Contra Rebirth, a WiiWare title, is due to hit Japan on May 12 with a release in other areas of the world still yet to be confirmed. The game appears to be in the same side scrolling tradition as the original from 1987 with local co-op. As we can only tell so much from a few screens on a translated web page, we will keep you updated as we learn more.
